Terms of Service
TL;DR -- Anvil Wallet is open-source software (MIT License). You control your own keys. We have no access to your funds and cannot recover lost seed phrases.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Anvil Wallet ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
2. Self-Custody Responsibility
Anvil Wallet is a self-custody wallet. This means:
- You are solely responsible for your seed phrase (recovery phrase)
- If you lose your seed phrase, your funds are permanently unrecoverable
- No one at Anvil Wallet can access, freeze, or recover your funds
- You are responsible for the security of the device on which the wallet is installed
There are no accounts, no servers, and no backdoors. The cryptographic guarantee of self-custody is absolute.
3. No Warranty
The Software is provided "as is" under the MIT License, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.
4. No Financial Advice
Anvil Wallet is a tool for managing cryptocurrency. Nothing in the Software or its documentation constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. You are solely responsible for your own financial decisions.
5. Supported Chains
Anvil Wallet supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Zcash, and several EVM-compatible chains (Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, BSC, Avalanche). Support for additional chains may be added over time. The availability and correctness of blockchain interactions depend on the underlying networks and third-party RPC providers.
6. Prohibited Use
You agree not to use the Software for:
- Any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Money laundering, terrorist financing, or sanctions evasion
- Any activity that could damage, disable, or impair the Software
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors of Anvil Wallet shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of cryptocurrency, arising from the use of the Software.
8. Open Source
Anvil Wallet is open-source software licensed under the MIT License. You are free to inspect, modify, and distribute the source code in accordance with that license.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
